Hi, I'm Babette
I’m an artist and trainer from Germany who followed her heart to Amsterdam. Since moving here, I’ve found more space to slow down, observe, and create - capturing moments that might otherwise pass unnoticed.
In my work, I explore emotions, memories and dreams - turning them into expressive visual stories. Whether I’m painting live at a show or working in the quiet of my studio, I try to give form to what’s felt but not always spoken.
If you're someone who values meaning, beauty, or a different way of seeing the world, I invite you to connect. Through my art, I hope to offer something that stays with you - a sense of recognition, reflection, or simply a moment to breathe.
my story
I came to art a little later in life. I’d always loved drawing and getting hands-on with creative projects, but my early path led me into the world of science and training.

Over the years, I explored molecular medicine, studied economics and social psychology, and wore many different hats - graphic designer, program coordinator, facilitator, trainer, change management consultant. Each role shaped me in different ways, but no matter where I was, I always found myself returning to creativity.

What began as painting birthday gifts for friends slowly grew into something more. Before I knew it, I was selling my artwork and performing improvised theatre on stage - discovering joy in both expression and connection.

For a long time, I felt I had no right to call myself an artist, since I hadn’t studied art formally. But the encouragement of people who were touched by my work helped me build the confidence to share it - and to embrace artist as part of who I am.

Today, I work as a freelance illustrator, trainer and actress.
Whether I’m capturing stories through ink and color, performance or guiding others in
workshops, my work is rooted in connection, self-exploration, and storytelling.

This journey has been full of twists, learning moments, and incredible people - mentors, friends, and communities who’ve guided me with both tough love and compassion. Now, I want to give back.
Through my art and workshops, I hope to offer that same sense of inspiration and guidance to anyone ready to explore their creativity and find their voice.
artist statement
My work explores the emotions, memories, and stories we often carry quietly. I am interested in experiences that feel deeply personal yet are widely shared, particularly those connected to identity, femininity, and the many forms of strength women embody. By distilling stories into expressive, simplified imagery, I create space for viewers to recognize parts of themselves and feel connected through shared experience.
Alongside my studio practice, I create live paintings that capture the energy of fleeting moments and collective memories as they unfold. Working primarily with acrylics, ink, and mixed media, I approach each piece with curiosity and experimentation, using painting as a way to preserve what is easily overlooked, felt, or forgotten.
