Silence | The Weight we Carry, 2026

In Silence, the canvas explores the quiet struggle between wanting to speak and feeling unable to. It reflects the lingering effects of having one's voice dismissed, interrupted, or questioned until silence becomes more than an external experience. Over time, it settles into an inner dialogue that asks whether speaking up is worth the risk, whether the words are valid, or whether they should remain unspoken.
Painted with deliberate restraint, the work examines the fragile space between expression and suppression. It considers how silence can become internalized, shaping not only what we say but also what we allow ourselves to feel, believe, and reveal. The piece asks what happens when we lose trust in our own voice, and what it takes to reclaim it. It invites viewers to reflect on the moments they held back, the truths they left unspoken, and the quiet courage required to finally break their own silence.
